Kids With Spirit Sunday School

Are you looking for a nonreligious but highly spiritual and inclusive education program for your children?

Kids With Spirit (KWS), the children's spiritual program at Spirit United, might be the answer. Your children are welcome to join us any Sunday morning (September - May) to find out. 

KWS Philosophy:  We seek to create a warm and welcoming environment for children (grades K-6) to experience God within - a heart connection with each other and with Spirit - by providing a foundation of teachings in Ageless Wisdom (often called "the golden thread" woven within each of humanity's different religions), and tools to build self-esteem, self-awareness, and creative thinking. Each class is a combination of: sacred circle time, lessons, activities, music, prayer, meditation and movement.

Your child will find a safe place to explore their inner life, aquire spiritual tools they can apply to their daily lives, and have a lot of fun with other children and dedicated teachers.

KWS Guiding Principles:

  • There is one God, known by many names.
  • God is both Father and Mother, embodying both masculine and feminine qualities.
  • There are many spiritual paths to knowing God.
  • We acknowledge that all beings, regardless of their sex, race, income, and life choices, are equal in value. 
  • The Love and Light (Wisdom) of God is within me and all creation.
  • The truth in our own hearts (our conscience) and God in us, guide us.
  • We strive to grow in self-understanding, practicing kindness, for ourselves and others, in all that we do.
  • There are always great teachers of love and wisdom to show us the way.
  • We are partners with God in creating a better world.
  • We are stewards of our home, Mother Earth.

Kids With Spirit is available for children in grades K-6. (As our program grows we plan to also offer programs for pre-school children and teens, spiritual parenting classes, and more.)

Class time is 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. during Church Service. (Approximately once a month the children join the adults in the main service.)
