The long anticipated year of 2012 is upon us. How ready are we for the transformation that is unfolding in our psyches, our culture, our planet? How able are we to answer the call of our higher destiny?
In this time of transformation, we are striving to be as fully conscious, as fully present, as possible. We each have important contributions to make. As a community, we have been preparing. Two years ago, 2010, our focus was on the 12 senses. The year of 2011 our focus has been on the 12 virtues of soul.
In our Sunday services through 2012, we will be following the arc of the evolution of human spiritual consciousness. Each month we will explore the spirituality of our ancestors, sequentially, up to our time and then beyond. To understand the present and imagine the future, we need to appreciate the past. We do this to regain lost parts of our psyche and to bring ourselves into the fullness of being human. We do this to reclaim the spiritual abilities of our ancestors that now lie fallow in our subconscious. We do this so we can more ably build toward our future.
Each month has a sub-theme that Rev. Moor and guest speakers will be focused on. Once a month, on the fourth Sunday after the service, Rev. Moor will facilitate an open discussion and exploration of that month's theme. All that seek, all that serve, are welcome. While each service will stand on its own, each Sunday will build on what has gone before and add to the cumulative progression.
Our Monthly Themes for 2012:
January - In The Beginning. The Ever Present Origin and the beginnings of human spirituality.
February - Earth, Our Mother. The first worldwide religion, the Great Mother.
March - The Way of the Shaman. Indigenous, deep-ecology spirituality.
April - The Temple Mysteries. The Goddess and the myths of the first civilizations.
May - The Dying and Resurrected God. Egyptian Mysteries and the passion of Isis and Osiris.
June - The Labyrinth in the Earth. The Greek Mysteries.
July - The Great Turning. Love Wisdom begins to change the world.
August - The Three Marys. Love Wisdom as Jesus and Mary; the trinity of Marys as Sophia.
September - The Friends of God. The medieval spiritual revival, Hildegard of Bingen and Meister Eckhardt.
October - The Resurgence of the Real. Spirit and matter together again.
November - The Emerging Spirituality. The call to our high destiny.
December - The Time Is Now. Living our future.
This is an ambitious plan. Some of the Sunday services will not follow the traditional pattern. The goal is to provide as authentic experience as possible of the different levels of spirituality. We will use ritual, chant, liturgy, meditation, and music in new, and old, ways. We will be ready, individually and communally, for our role in this pivotal time in history. Please join us.
